Family Trip to Las Vegas, Nevada (November 2017)

Mt. Charleston Lodge and Cabins; Mt Charleston is a town in the valley of
the spring mountains northwest of Las Vegas most noted for it's hiking trails, ski
lodges, and popular place for wealthy Las Vegas residents. This is important to me
and my family because of our love for nature, traveling and hiking.

Red Rock Canyon; The first humans were attracted to the Red Rock area due to its resources of water, plant, and animal life that could not be easily found in the surrounding desert. Hunters and gatherers such as the historical Southern Paiute and the much older Archaic, or Desert Culture Native Americans, have successively occupied this area.

Hoover Dam; A concrete dam on the Nevada/Arizona border which took 5 years to complete and was a massive effort involving thousands of workers and cost over one hundred lives. The Hoover Dam is important because it is a major supplier of hydroelectric power and provides for flood control and river regulation.
